How To Eat Healthy While Traveling In Barcelona

February 16th, 2010 · No Comments

If you are health conscious but also love traveling, then you are probably used to running into some problems. Barcelona is a bustling city filled with exquisite eateries where you can satisfy your health conscious cravings – on a budget too!

The Vegetalia restaurant is an organic vegan friendly fast food type place. Here you will find a self serve restaurant inside the health food store. You can get seitan, tofu, vegetables, and plenty of other delicious foods to fill you up during your travels. It is relatively cheap as well, and has received a lot of reviews regarding the quality.

Those that like to be out late experiencing the city will certainly benefit from the long hours of the Maoz Falafel restaurant. Here the smells are intoxicating and the food is delicious. The falafel is messy but filling, and the service is fast and cheap. Salads, sandwiches, as well as soups are also available for purchase at the Maoz Restaurant.

If you prefer your health food in liquid form, then Juicy Jones is an exceptional place to eat. They serve high quality wines and beers as well as organic food. There are soups and breads, and salads too. The meals are delicious and full of flavor. Many people seem to enjoy the fresh juices made from vegetables or fruits of your choice.

If you want something a little more filling and upscale, then the Biocenter Restaurant is the best. The entrees here are delicious and the atmosphere is happy and upbeat. The prices are quite cheap and there are plenty of things to choose from. You may need a car rental to get here from your hotel, but its worth it.

These are only a few examples of the many delicious vegan friendly restaurants in Barcelona. It isn’t easy to eat a strict diet in a city that is ultimately a carnivore heaven. There are meat products around every corner and most restaurants are not very accommodating to vegan or healthy eaters. Organic produce is also a must for some, but slightly more expensive. Instead, stick to local produce sold in some restaurants, and try organic local wine as well.

In Conclusion

It isn’t easy to find quality vegan restaurants in Barcelona, but any traveler will certainly appreciate the delicious options that are actually available. You will certainly not be disappointed if you try a few of them, and you may end up eating there multiple times during your stay!
